At the Università degli Studi di Firenze (University of Florence), GSE students will join a campus population of over 60,000 students.  This large student population is especially influential considering that Florence is a moderately sized city.  The university can trace its origins to the early part of the 14th century and has provided a rich tradition of excellence throughout the Tuscan region of Italy.  GSE students will attend courses at the Centro di Cultura per Stranieri (Cultural Center for Foreigners).  This department of the University of Florence is designed to enhance intensive language development and cultural knowledge of foreigners.
