This module offers an introduction to the new discipline of Public History, or the presentation of historical material to audiences of non-historians.  London, through the unrivalled number and range of museums and galleries it offers, is uniquely placed to host a module which addresses the complex issues for curators, historians and teachers and students, in presenting the past to present publics.  An essential element of the module will consist of a number of 'informed' visits to London museums, including the British Museum, the Victoria and Albert, the Imperial War Museum (including the new permanent Holocaust exhibition), and the Museum of Childhood.  The module is designed for undergraduate students seeking credit, but is also suitable for students or practitioners with a general or professional interest in the subject.
