At the University of Flroence(UniversitĂ  degli Studi di Firenze), GSE students will join a campus population of over 60,000 students.  This large student population is especially influential considering that Florence is a moderately sized city.  The university can trace its origins to the early part of the 14th century and has provided a rich tradition of excellence throughout the Tuscan region of Italy.  GSE students will attend courses at the Centro di Cultura per Stranieri (Cultural Center for Foreigners).  This department of the University of Florence is designed to enhance intensive language development and cultural knowledge of foreigners.

 
 
 
   
Admission Requirements & Recommendations
 Must be at least 18 years of age (there is no maximum age limit)
 2.5 cumulative GPA
 Must submit an official high school or college transcript
 One semester of college level Italian or equivalent (recommended)
     
University Statistics
 Over 60,000 students in a town of 400,000 people
 Originally established by the Florentine Republic in 1321
 Culture center for foreigners established in 1920
 Center is surrounded by a Renaissance garden that dates back to the 18th century
