Excursions
Exploring the surrounding regions of London is an integral part of adapting to and appreciating English culture. GSE offers a wide variety of excursions to several different regions in England. Semester programs typically include six weekend excursions, while summer programs include two to three. The following is a list of possible excursions. |

Bath Bath was built by the Romans above the only hot springs in England to serve as a curative and relaxing retreat. A museum located underneath the baths showcases advanced Roman building design, such as internal heating and centralized plumbing systems. |

Edinburgh Edinburgh is Scotland’s capital and is the second most visited city in the UK after London. Edinburgh is roughly divided into two sections, the old town and the new town, both of which were declared UNESCO world heritage sights in 1995. |

Salisbury and Stonehenge Salisbury has a remarkable cathedral built in 1358 with the highest spires in all of Europe. The chapel of the cathedral houses the oldest functional mechanical clock in the world. Just outside of Salisbury is Stonehenge. Its massive rock formations were mysteriously erected in approximately 1700 BC. |

Brighton Even Londoners come to Brighton to enjoy this dynamic and beautiful university town. Brighton's rocky beaches serve as the perfect escape from London on warm, sunny days. The Brighton Royal Pavilion was influenced by the architectural styles of China and India, and serves as one the most famous landmarks on the Sussex coast. |
