The Buenos Aires metro system was originally built in 1913 and is the oldest metro system in South America, the Southern Hemisphere, and the entire Spanish speaking world.  The mass transit system is usually referred to as el subte by the locals.  Currently, seven lines provide transportation throughout the city center and suburban Buenos Aires.  As a GSE student you will receive a metro pass good for the beginning of your program.
