Liberal Arts and Business Semester Program - Fall Semester 2012
London Metropolitan University
London, England

Students will be enrolled in up to four (4) elective courses, each worth three (3) units for a total of 12 semester credits.

The following fields of study are offered to study abroad students at London Metropolitan University (LMU):

  • Applied social sciences
  • Art and Theatre in London
  • Business and all variations on the theme
  • Computing and mathematics
  • Education
  • Fine Art, Media and Design
  • Health and Human Sciences
  • Humanities, Arts and Languages
  • Law, Governance and International Relations
  • Psychology

Courses approved for study abroad students are listed below by academic topic and then by teaching level:

  • Certificate Level (1000 level courses = 100/200 U.S. level equivalent)
  • Intermediate Level (2000 level courses = 300 U.S. level equivalent)
  • Honours Level (3000 level courses = 400 U.S. level equivalent)

Module Levels and Prerequisites
The three teaching levels, Certificate, Intermediate and Honours, broadly
correspond to the first, second and third year of study.

Consequently, some Intermediate and Honours level modules may only be taken if the student has already completed lower level modules on a related topic – these modules are known as prerequisites. When a prerequisite is listed you should make sure that you have studied a corresponding course at your home campus and therefore will have enough subject knowledge to approach the new material.

Instructions for selecting classes

Search the course offerings below for courses that you are interested in and/or relate to your major, minor, or general education requirements. Next, click on the button below to access the London Metropolitan University course catalog.

Once there enter the module code or title into the search in order to access the course syllabus per class.

Need help selecting or finding your courses? Contact us and a GSE advisor will assist you on how to schedule your classes. Students should choose a schedule of courses including several alternates as course availabilities are subject to change.

Sir John Cass Department of Art, Media and Design

In order to register for art classes you must be an art major at your home University. There are a limited number of spaces in each art class and so we cannot guarantee places. You may have to supply a portfolio of work for assessment by an academic, prior to obtaining a place in the class. You should also select non-art classes as a back up, and get these signed off by your academic advisor / tutor.

DESIGN (DE)

Please note Design (DE) modules are for specialists only and have a strong studio ethos. Students interested in registering for these modules must be Design Majors and should be able to submit an electronic portfolio of their work upon request.
