Summer Language and Culture - Summer 2011
University of Paris Sorbonne - Paris IV

GSE offers a four week French Language and Culture program at the University of Paris IV (Sorbonne) during the month of July.  Students will take a placement exam and be enrolled in the appropriate level course on site.  Course levels range from beginner to advanced.  Language courses meet weekdays for two hours per day for a total of 40 classroom hours.  In addition to language courses students will be enrolled in ten hours of phonetics laboratory which compliments language courses.  The cultural component of the course is fulfilled by lectures with a focus on literature, arts, and economic and social problems.  Cultural lectures are three days a week, three hours per day, and meet for a total of 36 classroom hours.  Students may earn up to five semester credits for the completion of this four week program.
