This module explores key issues in international relations, with particular emphasis on the European Union, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America. The module seeks to explain how the current international system has emerged and to develop in students an understanding of the role of international organisations in the global context. It also introduces students to many of the key theoretical issues and ideas essential to the successful study of International Relations. The module considers the implications of globalisation, the problems of economic and military security, international terrorism, development policies and problems.
