As one of the founding nations of Europe, France, has an unique role in the history of the world. In order to study and understand the current social, economic, or political situation in France, it is necessary to consider France as a member of the European Community. This course focuses on obtaining a better understanding of Europe, its institutions and how it functions. Then it asseses France's place in the heart of Europe and the transfer of power that is occurring for the benefit of the European Union. Finally, the course examines current issues and the future of France in relation to the European Community.
