French 100 is divided into two required components - language (cours pratiques) and phonetics. In order to receive credit on their transcripts, students must pass both components of this two-part course. The language (cours pratiques) component consists of ten hours of classroom instruction per week, while the phonetics component consists of two and a half hours per week of phonetics laboratory. On average students will receive 12.5 contact hours per week for four weeks.
