French 200 consists of an overview of basic grammar and delves into more advanced aspects of the language. The focus of this course is on written composition as well as oral work practiced in small groups.
French 200 is divided into two required components - language (cours pratiques) and phonetics. In order to receive credit on their transcripts, students must pass both components of this two-part course. The language (cours pratiques) component consists of ten hours of classroom instruction per week, while the phonetics component consists of approximately two hours per week of phonetics laboratory. On average students will receive 12 contact hours per week for 12 weeks.
