The aim of this course is to solidify fundamentals and to develop more confidence in written and oral capabilities. Students in this class will focus on improving oral fluency and written work. Stress will be placed on structural exercises in vocabulary, grammar, composition and textual analysis.
French 300 is divided into two required components - language (cours pratiques) and phonetics. In order to receive credit on their transcripts, students must pass both components of this two-part course. The language (cours pratiques) component consists of ten hours of classroom instruction per week, while the phonetics component consists of approximately two hours per week of phonetics laboratory. On average students will receive 12 contact hours per week for 12 weeks.
