History 100 Italian 1 14 One semester of college level Italian language recommended

This course reviews the history of Italy from the time of Giuseppe Garibaldi to Benito Mussolini.  Students will learn about the decline of the liberal Italian State, the rise and fall of fascism, World War II from an Italian perspective, and additional aspects of history that have helped to shape Italy into it's current state.  The course will also briefly address the feminist movement in Italy and the dynamic of the Italian family.
