French 400 places emphasis on mastering techniques that have already been learned. Students will refine written and spoken skills and be able to communicate in a more sophisticated manner. Students should have a command of the language prior to enrolling in this course.
French 400 is divided into two required components - language (cours pratiques) and phonetics. In order to receive credit on their transcripts, students must pass both components of this two-part course. The language (cours pratiques) component consists of ten hours of classroom instruction per week, while the phonetics component consists of approximately two hours per week of phonetics laboratory. On average students will receive 12 contact hours per week for 12 weeks.
