This course will cover the basic elements of the French language: vocabulary, grammar, phonetics, reading, and conversation. French 100 is designed for absolute beginners or students with minimal French language experience.
French 100 is divided into two required components - language (cours pratiques) and phonetics. In order to receive credit on their transcripts, students must pass both components of this two-part course. The language (cours pratiques) component consists of ten hours of classroom instruction per week, while the phonetics component consists of approximately two hours per week of phonetics laboratory. On average students will receive 12 contact hours per week for 12 weeks.
