This course provides the fundamental basis in mathematics necessary to
prepare students who need an algebra-trigonometry review to bridge the
gap between elementary algebra and the more advanced courses in
pre-calculus mathematics. It is designed to meet the goal of developing
mathematical skills, instill confidence, and incorporate an ability to
solve problems quickly and accurately, relevant to the demands of
modern business.
INSTRUCTIONAL METHODOLOGY: Presentation
of the material to be covered, exercises to be done at home and then
presented and explained in class. Will be dealt with in class:
- Basic concepts and properties - Equations and inequalities - Polynomials - Rational expressions - Exponents and radicals - Quadratic equations & inequalities - Coordinates geometry & graphing techniques - Functions - Systems of equations & inequalities - Basic concepts of trigonometry

EVALUATION: The
final grade will be made up of a class tests and homework correction
(20%), a mid-term test (40%), and a final examination (40%).
