This course is an introduction to the basic concepts and methods of
psychology. Primary emphasis is on the study of human behavior,
motivation, emotion, intelligence and personality.
COURSE OBJECTIVE: To
help the student become familiar with standard psychological vocabulary
and understand the development of today's science of psychology through
the different schools of thought.
INSTRUCTIONAL METHODOLOGY: Because
of the amount of material to be covered, this class will be primarily a
lecture class. Students will be expected to ask and answer questions
concerning the material covered, however, and are therefore expected to
prepare the chapters in advance.

EVALUATION: The
final grade will be made up of class participation (20%), group project
& presentation (20%), a mid-term test (30%), and a final
examination (30%).
