Practice of communication in Spanish Language at intermediate level. Linguistical functions required for handling oneself in everyday life. Discussion on current issues of general interest for all participants.

OBJECTIVE:
To consolidate past knowledge and content with new content. There will be special emphasis in complex grammatical structures of the Spanish language, as well as special attention placed on the enrichment of vocabulary, written, and spoken Spanish.

EVALUATION OF THE COURSE:
The final grade will be determined by the following scale:

33% participation and participation in class
The student will be evaluated both on his/her knowledge of the subject area, and his/her active participation in and out of class. The methodology used in class demands a daily participation from the student in the following points:
-correction of exercises
-activities that concentrate on vocabulary and grammar
-oral activities (individually, in pairs or in groups) in order to practice the grammatical content. Fluency, the correction of grammar, and the enrichment of vocabulary will be taken into consideration.

33% daily work
The student will complete the following assignments outside of class:
-grammar exercises to practice content and context
-reading of the textbook (reading comprehension)
-compositions to practice the vocabulary and the grammatical content (written expression)
-verbal commentaries about the text (verbal expression)

34% written exams
The final grade will be the result of the combination of daily work, class participation, and exams. The final grade may be altered for excessive absences.

***IMPORTANT*** Class attendance is required. Any unexcused absences will negatively affect your final grade.
