General description
The basic objective of the class is to facilitate the students with knowledge of Spanish Literature from its origins until modernism, analyzing authors and highlighted works from the specific periods in historic and social contexts in which they were produced.

Activities
The cited texts of each subject will be read and commented upon in class, in selected fragments and, on occasion, will be illustrated further with videos or other audiovisual equipment. Students will participate in some discussions indicated by the professor that the students will present in class. Class participation and participation in cultural literary activities, attendance to theatre performances, expositions, etc. related to the program of the class will be valued.

Evaluation
Grades will be evaluated through written tests/quizzes that consist of a theoretic question and a commentary of one of the texts that have been discussed in class. The presentation of the indicated commentaries in class as well as class attendance and active participation will be valued.
