Don't wait any longer to make your plans to study abroad in London this summer!
As preparations for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London continue to unfold, the excitement is building fast. With limitations on housing space and air travel, any hesitation on confirming your study abroad plans means you risk missing out on this once in a lifetime opportunity to study and live in an Olympic host city.
Why Study Abroad?
- Studying in a foreign country gives you a fresh perspective on yourself and the world. You will fulfill major or general education requirements, learn a foreign language or improve your current skills.
- While studying abroad you will experience a new way of life, be introduced to a new culture, meet new and diverse people and make life-long friendships.
- Studying abroad is also a great resume-builder. You'll instantly stand out as part of a select group (less than 2% of students study abroad), with unique skills and experiences that hiring managers value.
Experience the Special Cultural Events & Exhibits
The Olympic Games officially start in late July, but special cultural events and exhibits will be happening around the city all throughout the summer.
The London 2012 Festival for the Finale of the Cultural Olympiad runs from June 21st, 2012 to September 9th, 2012. This massive celebration includes spectacular dance displays, concerts with big-name musicians, large-scale art installations throughout the U.K., fine art exhibits, and much more. Many events do not require a ticket!
And, here are just a few of the activities scheduled this summer:
- West End LIVE (June 23rd - June 24th): Experience the very best of London theater in Trafalgar Square. For the first time ever the casts from London's highly-acclaimed musicals will hot-foot it from their theaters and perform for the masses, without charge.
- The Genius of Hitchcock (June 28th-29th & July 21st): Be the first to see a series of Alfred Hitchcock's early British masterpieces restored to their former glory by the BFI National Archive and presented with live music accompaniment.
- The Voyage outdoor performance (June 21st - June 24th): Professional dancers and aerialists join forces with a huge amateur choir, live musicians and more than 140 community performers to transform Birmingham's Victoria Square.
- Official London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Poster Display (June 21st-September 21st): On exhibit at Tate Britain.
